Job Summary

At ICS Medical Devices, we’re looking to hire a R&D Engineer to help identify, evaluate, and develop new technologies that will shape the future of our medical device portfolio.

This role is ideal for an engineer who already has solid industry experience and is ready to take more ownership, work independently, and influence technical direction—while still learning and growing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and assess emerging technologies for medical device applications.

  • Design and develop proofs of concept and functional prototypes.

  • Lead technical investigations and feasibility studies with minimal supervision.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Quality, Regulatory and Manufacturing teams.

  • Support technology roadmaps and contribute to long-term innovation planning.

  • Produce clear technical documentation aligned with medical device regulatory standards.

  • Support implementation and qualifications of new technologies and processes.

  • Monitor external technology trends, standards, and competitors to inform decision-making.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 3–6 years’ engineering experience, ideally in medical devices or another regulated industry.

  • Hands-on experience developing, testing, or integrating new or emerging technologies in areas such as Laser welding/cutting, thermal bonding, ultrasonic welding, coatings solutions, 3D printing, automation and other related technologies.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.

  • Comfortable balancing innovation with regulatory, quality, and risk considerations.

  • Experience with standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 14971, or similar is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with Solidworks, PLC Programming and equipment design.

  • Ability to interpret problem statements to generate requirement and support equipment design and testing.

  • Clear communicator who can work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
